UNIONIZED POSITION
Permanent Full-Time – 40 hours per week
Description Of Work
The position reports directly to the Manager/Director. Duties include reviewing building permit applications, plans and drawings as well as inspecting residential, commercial, and other buildings to ensure compliance with the National Building Code of Canada, National Fire Code of Canada and the Town’s bylaws.
Qualifications And Experience
- Applicants must have completed a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
- Two (2) years’ experience in building inspection
- Any combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills
- Familiarity with the National Building Code of Canada, National Fire Code of Canada, Life Safety Code and general construction practices and principles is required
- Familiarity with the inspection of commercial buildings would be an asset
Applications must include a copy of official educational documents confirming education requirements and references. The successful applicant must provide acceptable Certificate of Conduct and Driver's Abstract prior to commencement.
