Our Security Guards are offered employment in a dynamic role in one of the most unique work environments that BC Ferries has to offer. This customer-facing role has the crucial responsibility of making our passengers feel safe and secure as they travel from coast to coast.
Location : Horseshoe Bay
The Day to Day:
路 Ensure the safety and security of ferry terminals
路 Act as a visible security presence and deterrent to support a safe environment
路 Engage with the public to provide assistance, direction, and exceptional customer service
路 Perform security procedures including unlock/lock-up checks and routine inspections
路 Operate communication tools such as radios and escalate incidents as necessary
路 Identify, report, and help mitigate safety hazards
路 Support passenger safety and satisfaction during coast-to-coast travel
What you bring:
路 BC Security License
路 Excellent communication skills
路 Comfortable with radio communication
路 Ability to write reports on job-related activities
路 Comfort working independently and in varying weather conditions
路 Punctuality and reliability
路 Physically capable of standing and walking for a duration of 8 hours
Compensation:
- $20.60/hr for shifts worked at Horseshoe Bay
