The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President & General Manager, Poultry, the Vice President, Poultry Business Optimization’s overall mandate is to maximize the profitability of our fresh poultry supply within the network capacity & capabilities. This is a high-impact role and an excellent test for a high-potential candidate with aspirations of a General Management role, running a business. The role has three key accountabilities; Profit Optimization, Planning & Execution, and Industry Relations. The scope of the role is very broad and deep requiring close collaboration with peers in Manufacturing, Agricultural Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales & Marketing. The role is a key member of the cross-functional Poultry Leadership Team and leads the Poultry Optimization team of twenty-one.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
Profit Optimization

- Drive the profitability of our poultry supply including 275 million kg of live chicken and turkey supply.
- Lead cross-functional decision-making process to evaluate new business opportunities and manage SKU offerings.
- Approve new product launches and top grading based on supply position and profitability vs. alternatives.
- Identify changes to production assets/processes to improve utilization of raw material and profitability.
- Set RWA/Organic and Market Development live volume targets to drive efficiency and support growth. • Maximize returns of commodity raw material sold through the Industrial channel.
- Avoid commodity losses through freezer inventory management (fresh & FPP).
- Maximize returns from Import Quota program through strategic utilization.
Planning & Execution

- Lead S&OP processes for Fresh Poultry including Demand Planning and capacity planning.
- Drive schedule optimization to maximize output from network capacity and available raw material.
- Execute in-week Production Scheduling at plants to deliver on value-added customer orders.
- Plan and execute inter-company raw material supply to FPP and PM plants to meet production schedules.
- Procurement of required poultry raw material from domestic and international suppliers for FPP/PM plants.
Industry Relations

- Represent MLF commercial interests in Poultry processor associations.
- Manage Import Quota program including administration & lobbying with govt/industry.
- Manage Supply Agreements and negotiations with processor partners.
What You’ll Bring:
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in industry postdegree. Previous direct commercial experience is required (e.g., Marketing, Sales) and Poultry Industry experience would be an asset. Strong commercial/business acumen and understanding of market dynamics is key, along with exceptional critical thinking and analytical capabilities, ideally in the context of evaluating business decisions and managing trade-offs. In addition, the candidate will have a demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate across functions (and levels) to solve complex problems, gain alignment and execute with speed to deliver on commercial/financial objectives. They are an experienced people manager, working in a complex, matrix organization
