Job Overview
Toonie Tours is seeking enthusiastic Walking Tour Guides to join our team and showcase their local communities. We are looking for candidates available to work both weekdays and weekends. Your main responsibility will be to lead groups of 10-25 customers on highly entertaining and informative tours of your area.
Toonie Tours utilizes a performance-based compensation model to reward Guides who host amazing tours. Applicants who love Canada, its rich history, and their communities will do well with Toonie Tours.
Language Preference
We are prioritizing applicants who are fluent and bi-lingual in Spanish, German, and English.
Position Type
This is a freelance, contractor position. Shifts are available 7 days a week. Candidates will be required to invoice Toonie Tours for the tours they guide. Experience as a freelancer/contractor is preferred.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Creative - Learn, research, design, and personalize tours to offer an authentic experience.
- Leadership - Meet, welcome, and lead tours groups of guests.
- Customer Service - Provide local recommendations and tips for out-of-town travelers and those less familiar with your community.
- Community Representation - Act as the local Toonie Tours expert, embodying the spirit of your community and representing both Toonie Tours and tour guides in general.
- Adaptability - Lead tours outdoors in varying weather conditions.

- Communicative & Social – Strong verbal communication skills, personable, approachable, and able to present confidently. We seek fluent English-speaking Tour Leaders and encourage additional language skills, especially Spanish.

- Punctual – Arrives early for every tour, without fail.
- Physically fit - Can manage 5 km of walking in 3 hours while speaking and presenting.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to ride an e-scooter is an asset
Job Types:

Contract Length: 6 months with opportunities for full-time employment.
Pay: $17.60-$40.00 per hour
