About Us
Facilities Management is responsible for the planning, development, engineering, construction, operation, maintenance and stewardship of all the buildings, infrastructure, sites and services within Western's campus community, and related off-campus sites. Our integrated team provides excellence in creating and maintaining Western's facilities, and in serving the community.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
The Summer Student will assist in our facilities management stores area. The incumbent will primarily be responsible for supporting the operation by assisting in delivery of trades and caretaking supplies and driving personnel van (trades staff and small parts) throughout campus. Assembling orders, stocking inventory and performing spot check counts. Make data base changes I.E- update supplier information due to price or part number changes.
Qualifications:
Education:
Currently attending school and returning full-time to post-secondary studies in the fall. Preference will be given to Western Students.
Experience:
Preference will be given to those with previous experience working in a warehouse/delivery environment using material handling equipment and those with customer service experience.
Skills & Expertise:
- Knowledge of the Division of Facilities Management and Western University's campus
- Previous experience performing physical work
- Proven attention to detail
- Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people in a respectful manner
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Possess a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Must possess a valid G license and a clean driver's abstract
