    About the Opportunity

    We have an opportunity for a Summer Student, Corporate Development to join the Centerra Corporate team. This position is a remote/hybrid role based at our Toronto, ON office .



    Reporting to the VP, Corporate Development, this roleis responsible for supporting the assessment and implementation of corporate development projects, including completing diligence reviews on mining assets or companies for investment and M&A opportunities. The position will also assist in assessing internal opportunities to maximize value within Centerra’s current portfolio.

    Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute analysis and assist in the implementation of corporate development initiatives.

    This may involve assisting in technical due diligence reviews on mining assets or companies for investment and M&A opportunities as well as potential divestitures.
  • Participate in the assessment phase, analyzing existing information in order to identify and prioritize areas of opportunity.
  • Effectively communicate findings, progress and challenges as required, synthesizing complex concepts to drive alignment between a broad audience.
  • Manage the assessment and execution processes to ensure high quality, error free, on time submissions.
  • Prepare financial models and presentations to support project evaluations, possible acquisition targets, and/or divestitures.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

    To qualify, you must be a university student working towards a  degree in engineering or business

    The following will be critical to successfully performing this role: 

  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Willingness to learn and strong work ethic
  • Attention to detail and the ability to run analysis quickly, presenting summaries to senior reports
  • Decision making and problem solving
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to multitask
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Some knowledge of Bloomberg and / or Cap IQ is preferred
