We are looking for CWB welders by hand to work at our shop facility located in Acheson, AB, we may consider strong 2nd or 3rd year welding apprentices. We have lots of local work that will provide lots of growth in your career.
Job Description:
Working as a welder in a unique shop environment with varying types of projects. Ranging from: heavy structural steel assemblies, modular builds, piping projects, custom builds.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a safe and efficient manner, keeping safety at the forefront of all tasks.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Qualifications
- Journeyman/woman
- 3rd year welding apprentice
2nd year welding apprentice
CWB certification, FCAW, MCAW a must
- Valid class 5 drivers license
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday (some weekends) 7am to 5:30pm overtime after 8 hrs.,
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
