Who you are

  • You have a strong visual competence with a keen eye for aesthetics and a passion for home furnishing, retailing, design and how people live at home
  • You have minimum of 1-year carpentry experience gained in a commercial business, ideally in the construction and building industry or from exhibition installations
  • You are constantly improving your capabilities, setting priorities and organising your own work in order to make the most efficient use of the time available
  • You can present and communicate the IKEA home furnishing range with strong visual impressions that exceed expectations, further strengthens the IKEA brand and turns more visitors into customers
  • You desire to seek out opportunities to make improvements in the way we work by combining strong commercial, aesthetic and practical skills
  • You are confident in approaching and communicating clearly with different people in various situations and to cooperate effectively in a team-oriented work environment
  • You possess a flexible, hands-on approach to responsibilities as well as the aptitude to meet set deadlines, visualise and present an idea

Your responsibilities

  • Use your knowledge of people’s life at home, range presentation and the IKEA visual identity to support the Com&In team in presenting and communicating the IKEA product range
  • Prioritize work to meet the needs and expectations of store customers and minimize disruption when working on the shop floor
  • Ensure high quality, simplicity and cost-consciousness in the execution of daily operations by using best practices and following standard procedures
  • Implement the agreed Com&In/store action plan with a sense of urgency and an eye for detail in order to help create a strong visual impression in the store
  • Be conscious of the importance of safety while you are working on the shop floor and take prompt action when safety is compromised
  • Provide high-quality carpentry and paintwork throughout the store in a simple, safe and cost- and time-efficient way
  • Reduce the environmental footprint and maximize opportunities to recycle and reuse materials
  • Contribute to the positioning of the IKEA store as a high-quality and affordable home furnishing specialist

The starting rate/salary for this position ranges from $39,200 to $53,900 and will be based on relevant work experience.
