Steno II

Maintenance Dispatch

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor the Steno II for Maintenance Dispatch provides administrative, clerical and dispatching support for the 5 Central Maintenance Supervisors in a fast paced office environment. The successful applicant will receive, review and process maintenance work order requests using the computerized maintenance work management system (CMMS) and will troubleshoot, prioritize and act on urgent/emergency situations, contacting staff, contractors and appropriate departments in a timely manner. The schedule will alternate, every 2 weeks, between shifts of 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Salary Range: $25.85 – $30.04 per hour

Qualifications

Required: Secondary School Diploma. Intermediate skills in various software applications, e.g. MS Office. Strong communication and interpersonal skills . Strong organizational and time management skills . Ability to work independently and as a team member . Exercise good judgment while dealing with urgent maintenance situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred: Knowledge of Simcoe County District School Board Policies, Administrative Procedures Memoranda and Numbered Memoranda. Knowledge of board approved software, e.g. JD Edwards, DirectLine, Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), RC Studio/Reliable Building Automation System (BAS) and maintenance fleet telematics/GPS. Knowledge of basic accounting.
