Job Summary

Digital Order Management is a business product critical to the day-to-day interactions with retail pharmacy and institutional customers. The product includes the wholesale catalogue, ability to order, complete returns, promotions, manage financial information, receive communications, and manage locations. Working in close collaboration with leaders across the organization and McKesson Technology, this role will be responsible for the vision, strategy, and delivery of the overall roadmap.

What you will do:

  • You will become fully entrenched in the McKesson Retail / Institutional customer business, including customer needs / desires, business understanding, and knowledge of processes internally and with customers

  • You will be an inspiring product visionary that will define the product vision, and long-term strategy while ensuring it is clear across the organization’s stakeholders and aligned to the Corporate strategy

  • You will be the domain expert and advocate for the customer, and that of internal stakeholders to establish a superior customer experience through digital order management practices.


  • You will be an effective critical thinker able to decipher data from multiple sources in decision making

  • You will socialize, communicate, and obtain commitment from executive stakeholders and their teams

  • Define desired customer objectives, product value proposition; business objectives, & business case

  • Accountable for product investment decisions to maximize the ROI approach to increasing the value while minimizing product costs.


  • You will define value proposition scenarios in which the product/service was designed to accomplish tasks, achieve goals and resolve customer problems

  • You will leverage existing tools and identify new tools to support the product functions and advancements.

  • Analyze the market for strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities to identify capabilities most impactful to customers and to improve McKesson’s competitive position in the market

  • Initiate customer, internal, and competitive research


  • Initiate and maintain the product user experience with the UX team, utilizing product useability research with customers and internal stakeholders

  • Provide input and strategic direction to product design/UX design

  • You will leverage current roadmaps, enhance them and further prioritize based on customer needs for the near term and longer-term

  • You will balance both customer needs and business value in prioritization


  • You will guide thebuild-out of new tools and be accountable for maintenance, operations, documentation, onboarding of new businesses, and supporting business teams that use these products on a daily basis

  • Work with cross-functional teams such as design, privacy, security, account management/sales, procurement, communications, engineering, analytics, product development and other business stakeholders in the development and continued progression of the product roadmap and journey

  • Support the product backlog, review user stories and generally support the product with progressing the intended path forward with the product management/development teams so they remain unblocked

  • Define goals and KPIs. Progress and further develop a dashboard on key metrics that ladder up to overall quarterly and yearly goals.



  • Use qualitative and quantitative analysis when making key product decisions.

  • Ensure privacy and compliance regulations and internal privacy policies are adhered to.

  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement for adapted operational processes.

  • You are results oriented with a strong focus on the customer and an experienced people leader that engages team members across multiple levels of the organization.



Position Requirements

  • 13+ years of experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience

  • Experience in digital product & agile environments

  • Ability to work independently and self-manage the unknowns


  • ·A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Strategic product visionarycapable of translating market pain points into a clear business value proposition.

  • Direct experience with Senior Executives

  • Customer experience centric mindset focused on improving customer journey


  • Deep Business Acumen, market trends, innovation

  • Business outcome focus and performance monitoring

  • Essential communication skills; both verbal and written, an asset if in French and English

  • Strong communicator with ability to clearly communicate product vision and expected outcomes


  • Effective analyst and critical thinker across multiple data sets

  • Influence and decision making

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and various levels across internal groups and various customer types

  • Strong interpersonal relationships


  • Professionalism, confidentiality and good judgment to work on projects at all levels of the organization

  • Technical and/or development experience


  • Previous experience in order management or eCommerce

  • Experience with product useability practices; knowledge of user-centered design / product practices

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritize

  • Team leadership and change leadership

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.



Our Base Pay Range for this position

$135,400 – $225,600
