Senior Consultant – Sustainable Procurement and Packaging
Reporting to the Manager, Sustainability, the Senior Consultant, Sustainable Procurement and Packaging would support the development and execution of an innovative corporate strategy to reduce Scope 3 emissions from our supply chain and ensure that we are acting responsibly in our procurement choices. The incumbent will support the implementation of and related initiatives. The incumbent will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, measure, test and implement new green products and services, with a strong focus on solutions that will enable Purolator to meet its sustainable procurement and packaging targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the reduction of Scope 3 emissions across Purolator’s operations largely related to our purchased goods and services, capital goods and packaging solutions, with a consideration of the full lifecycle of the product or service.
- Researching and analyzing data to help develop targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for sustainable procurement and packaging, including assessment of performance against KPIs.
- Supporting the on-going implementation of Purolator’s Responsible Procurement Standard, including training, supplier evaluations, and program oversight.
- Engaging with internal stakeholders to ensure that environmental performance standards are incorporated in our purchasing requirements, including developing a framework to guide decision making.
- Participating in the assessment and selection process for RFP and RFI requests for vendors in high-risk sustainability categories.
