We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Hand to oversee construction projects and coordinate team activities on-site. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical expertise in various construction disciplines, and a comprehensive understanding of building processes. As a Lead Hand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards. This position offers an opportunity to lead diverse teams and contribute to complex construction initiatives across multiple trades.

Your job requirements include, but are not limited to the following:

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and safety protocols
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide team tasks
• Operate or oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment such as mini-ex and skid steer
• Able to implement instructions from Foreman and lead a 2-to-5-person crew effectively and oversee daily tasks
• Strong communication and time management, by completing construction jobs efficiently
• Ensure quality control by inspecting work for compliance with specifications and standards
• Responsible for driving trucks and trailers to move equipment, supplies, and team members.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in landscape construction trades such as installing hardscapes (pavers, retaining walls), water features, wood work, and softscaping
• Aptitude for physically demanding outdoor work during all types of weather conditions
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and specialized machinery relevant to the role
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Experience directing a crew of 3 or more people
• Experience driving trucks and trailers, loading/offloading machines, maintenance, and repair of equipment
• Ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining safety standards
• Relevant certifications or licenses related to heavy equipment operation, safety, or specialized trades are a plus

Pay: $23.00-$35.00 per hour
