Shipping & Receiving Operator (Fixed Term)
Job Description
As a Fixed Term Shipping & Receiving Operator, you will be responsible for the rotation of Irving's Blending and Packaging Production and Warehouse inventory and loading/unloading of delivery vehicles. Your goal will be to ensure all hazardous raw materials, damaged goods, or finished product shipments are loaded/unloaded, inspected, counted, staged, sorted, wrapped, rotated, and stored. Your success will be evident by how effectively Customer requirements and shipments are fulfilled in a timely manner to meet on time delivery schedule and commitments.
Kindly note this is a 6 month fixed term contract.

Your Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial forklifts to aid in the loading/unloading of palletized and non-palletized customer orders in order to adhere to production schedules
- Promote a safety culture in the workplace, identifying workplace safety hazards and adhering to safety management standards
- Perform routine visual inspections and maintains upkeep of forklift equipment and work area. Ensures all safety equipment are in place before loading or unloading trailers
- Adhere to Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations to ensure 100% compliance
- Ensures the correct items are scanned, loaded and secured safely onto equipment and trailers. Maintains a solid understanding of full product line, to ensure order quality and accuracy. Responsible for knowledge of 3000 SKUs
- Completion of all applicable paperwork in a time sensitive and accurate manner to meet daily fulfillment requirements
- Creation of pick tickets with selection by selecting aged stock and continuous tracking and updating of daily shipping loading/unloading board
- Participates with counting of inventory as required
- Conducts analysis of the load pattern for palletized orders
Your Skills:
- Forklift and Warehouse Operator experience
- Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite
Your Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college diploma is desirable
- Minimum 2-3 years prior industrial experience, preferably in a production / warehouse facility
- WHMIS certifications
