<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: CAD$150,000-$180,000<br /><p>Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Generalist) Remote Canada</p><p><br /></p><p>VerticalScope is looking for a senior, high-agency full-stack engineer to own and drive meaningful product surface area across multiple high-traffic consumer platforms. This is not a support role and not a ticket-execution role. You will operate with substantial autonomy, make technical and product decisions, and be directly accountable for outcomes.</p><p>This role is designed for someone who thinks and acts like an owner: identifying problems worth solving, deciding how to solve them, and shipping end-to-end solutions with speed and judgment. You will work with startup-level velocity inside a scaled environment, where your decisions materially affect millions of users.</p><p><br /></p><p>About the Role</p><p>You are an end-to-end builder with a proven ability to take ambiguous problems from idea to production. You are trusted to make trade-offs, choose approaches, and move work forward without constant direction. You will regularly span backend systems, frontend experiences, data flows, and infrastructure concerns as needed to deliver impact. You will work closely with product, data, and DevOps, but you own execution. This includes shaping solutions, running experiments, iterating based on results, and improving systems over time. Success in this role is measured by shipped outcomes, not activity.<br><br></p><p>What Youll Do</p><ul><li>Build full-stack features and experiments across multiple platforms.<br><br></li><li>Collaborate with product, data, and DevOps to move quickly from idea to production.<br><br></li><li>Prototype new workflows, integrations, and user experiences with minimal overhead.<br><br></li><li>Improve existing systems through thoughtful refactoring and simplification.<br><br></li><li>Explore opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and modern tooling.<br><br></li></ul><p>What Were Looking For</p><ul><li>5+ years of full-stack development experience.<br><br></li><li>Comfortable working across multiple languages and frameworks.<br><br></li><li>Strong fundamentals in backend development and modern frontend practices.<br><br></li><li>Experience shipping real features to real users.<br><br></li><li>Experience with A|B testing and experimentation.<br><br></li><li>Ability to operate independently and make pragmatic decisions.<br><br></li><li>Experience working within cloud-hosted environments.<br><br></li></ul><p>Bonus</p><ul><li>Experience with Python, Typescript, or React.<br><br></li><li>Background in online communities or high-traffic consumer apps.<br><br></li><li>Interest in integrating AI-driven workflows.<br><br></li></ul><p>If youre a generalist who enjoys moving fast, owning problems end-to-end, and shaping user-facing products at scale, wed love to talk.</p><p><br /></p><p>LIFE AT VERTICALSCOPE</p><p>We believe that competitive benefits are an important investment in our people and culture.
