Job title: Senior Mechanical Engineer – Lead Innovative Automation Projects with World Class Brands
We’re hiring a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of custom, high-speed automation systems. This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer with a passion for innovation, strong leadership skills, and deep technical expertise in machine design. You’ll be responsible for managing design projects from concept through to production, working alongside a team of engineers, manufacturing and procurement. You will be driving creative solutions for complex automation challenges, taking Pack-Smart’s machine design to the next level.
- Conceptualize, model, and detail components and assemblies using AutoCAD and 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
- Evaluate and optimize existing mechanical systems.
- Collaborate in design reviews and cross-functional project planning.
- Mentor and supervise junior designers and engineers.
- Assist with Drawing file system administration and project documentation.
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience in automation or machine building.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software; SolidWorks is an asset.
- Well-versed in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics, servo motors, and machine shop practices.
- Experience with PDM document management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
