Senior Accountant (Insurance)Take on a high-impact role in Montréal driving financial reporting, audits, tax compliance, and cash flow for multiple entities. What is in it for you:
• Salary: 85K–95K, based on experience.
• Permanent full-time position, 37.5 hours per week.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. or 9 am. to 5 pm.
• Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
• Ensure timely filing of financial information with regulatory authorities.
• Manage indirect tax filings including TPS, TVQ, and RST.
• Participate in the year-end audit and liaise with external auditors.
• Contribute to the financial budget planning process.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies.
• Help develop and monitor internal control systems.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities for all entities.
• Oversee intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Manage claims tracking, reporting, and resolution.
• Authorize and supervise banking activities and cash movements (subrogation cheques and wire transfers).
• Monitor daily cash positions and optimize cash flow across entities.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a combination of education and relevant industry experience.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an asset.
• Bilingual in French and English, to support regulatory filings, audits, and intercompany communications across entities operating in both language environments.
• Proficiency in financial software such as Business Central and Microsoft GP is considered an asset.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
• Knowledge or experience in the insurance or healthcare industry is considered an asset.
• Strong ability in task planning and organization.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and synthesis skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Highly detail-oriented with an innovative and solutions-driven approach.
