Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sedation Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to patient health and comfort while developing your skills in dental assisting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, including restorations, extractions, sedation and orthodontic treatments.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs.
  • Manage patient records using dental software such as Open Dental, Clear Dent, Tracker, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide patients with post-operative instructions and answer their questions about procedures or treatments.
  • Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and manage patient flow efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order materials as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, including pediatrics, to ensure comfort and understanding of treatment plans, our practice main department at this point is providing pediatric dentistry.
  • Ensure that sedation procedures are done safely in every single case (further training will be provided to you)
  • Assist with administrative tasks typical of a dental receptionist when required, including check-in/check-out processes.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental software such as Open Dental, Clear Dent, Tracker for managing patient records.
  • Passion for pediatrics dentistry to effectively assist young patients.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental care.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing appointments, supplies, and patient information.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact warmly with patients of all ages, especially children.
  • Certification or experience in dental assisting is preferred; ongoing training in dental procedures is a plus, however we welcome new graduates and are happy to train the right personality.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
