Commissionaires BC is currently looking for security guards with a passion for customer service to work at the HMCS Discovery in Stanley Park.
Rotation: Tuesday - Friday, 1500 - 2300
Payrate: $21.67/hr
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Controlling access to site
- Conducting security and fire patrols during silent hours
- Reporting any unauthorized activities to Site Supervisor and Facility Manager
- Reporting all noteworthy incidents to Facility Manager, Site Supervisor and Commissionaires Management
- Answering the main gate’s telephone
- Checking both land-line and cell phone voice mails
- Checking computer for e-mails and appointments
- Securing gate when guard house is not manned
- Maintaining control of keys and ensuring the key log book is completed correctly
- Conducting basic public relations, dealing with questions from members of public
- Valid BC Security Licence
- Been resident in Canada for a minimum of 5 years for clearance eligibility
- OFA 1 Certificate

- Able to de-escalate any situations as needed
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, and equipment such as faxes and photocopiers
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and professional manner
- Strong multi-tasking, prioritizing, and organizational skills
- Physically able to perform assigned duties, including the ability to conduct extensive foot patrols
- Fluent English written, verbal and reading skills
