Responsibilities • Be flexible to travel to First Nations schools throughout Manitoba (includes flying to remote locations); • Provide consultation for academic, learning, behaviour, social-emotional, and mental health benefit of referred students and schools using a three-tiered service delivery model; • Deliver individual and group prevention and intervention services, including crisis response; • Give careful consideration to the review and adaptation of diagnostic assessment instruments for culturally appropriate use among First Nations children; • Conduct assessments of students to identify appropriate diagnosis, educational planning, and home strategies that address academic/learning, behavioural, social-emotional, and mental health concerns; • Experience working with First Nations in the field of education is considered an asset; • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills to work in a First Nations environment; • Excellent oral and written communication skills in technical and plain language writing; • Fluency in a First Nations language is considered an asset; • Maintain a high level of professional practice. Qualifications • A minimum of Master of Arts/Sciences/Education in School, Child, or Clinical Psychology; • Eligible for Permanent or Provisional Certification as a Certified School Clinician in School Psychology and/or registration with the Psychological Association of Manitoba; • Professional liability insurance specific to the practice of psychology; • Possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable vehicle; • Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector check and Child Abuse Registry check.
