About the Role
Joloedd Residence is a youth residential group home supporting youth ages 10–17 in a structured, trauma-informed environment. The RN provides clinical oversight and medical coordination to ensure safe medication practices and ongoing health monitoring within the residence.
This is a low-volume, relationship-based nursing role focused on supervision, assessment, and coordination rather than hospital-style bedside care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee medication administration procedures and documentation
- Conduct routine health and wellness assessments
- Coordinate care with physicians, pharmacies, and external providers
- Review incident reports and provide medical recommendations
- Support staff training on health and safety practices
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Provide guidance during medical or behavioural incidents when required
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ontario
- Experience in community, mental health, pediatric, or residential care preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
Mandatory Requirements
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- CPR / BLS Certification
- Professional liability insurance
- Medication administration competency
- Trauma-informed care training (or willingness to obtain)
