SUMMARY:
The Refrigeration Designer is responsible to design and review commercial supermarket refrigeration systems and controls. The Refrigeration and Mechanical Design team collaborate closely with Construction, Procurement, and Maintenance departments.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Design commercial supermarket refrigeration systems, which includes pipe sizing, compressor sizing, heat reclaim strategies, refrigeration equipment selection, and review of control requirements.
– Provide AutoCad drawings for mechanical requirements
– Collaborate with stakeholders on refrigeration mechanical design – Assist Construction and Maintenance Teams in the development of refrigeration requirements and optimization of refrigeraton energy consumption for various new and existing building projects
– Research new concepts and products related to refrigeration, mechanical and energy.
– Study and analyze energy usage, participate to the implementation and elaboration of energy savings projects.
– Support refrigeration budget planning (mechanical estimates) for Planning, Construction & Maintenance teams.
– Respond to internal and external on-going refrigeration related issues and requests
– Complete all other tasks required upon manager’s request
QUALIFICATIONS:
– College diploma or University studies (certificate)
– 3 – 5 years experience as an Engineer or Technologist
– Knowledge of commercial supermarket refrigeration – Proficiency with mechanical design drawings and plans
– Occasional site visits to inspect refrigeration systems
– Good communication and team skills
– Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and AutoCad
