THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF DURHAM
Recruiter
Reporting to the Supervisor, Talent Acquisition and Workforce, the incumbent will develop and facilitate recruitment activities to develop and strengthen the organizational talent pool.
The incumbent will:
Develop recruitment and selection tools and procedures, including pre-screening, assessments, interview questions and participate in the interview process
Provide advice and counsel to management regarding recruitment/selection processes and obligations and ensure compliance with Collective Agreement, legislation, and policy
Develop and deliver presentations, workshops, information sessions and seminars to staff on a variety of subject matters as required
Conduct trends analysis and monitor current issues regarding recruitment, selection and retention providing recommendations for more effective and efficient procedures
Respond to general Human Resources inquiries from employees regarding job competition processes as well as provide technical advice on resume writing and interview preparation/debriefing
Provide recommendations in the formulation and modification of policies and procedures that fulfill obligations and meet the needs of the client group
The successful applicant will possess:
Completion of post-secondary education in a Human Resources discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certified Human Resources Professional designation would be an asset
Demonstrated experience with all aspects of recruitment, preferably in an unionized environment
Progressive computer proficiency in MS Office applications and experience with Human Resources Information Systems, preferably PeopleSoft/Oracle
Ability to interpret and apply Human Resources theory and practice, Collective Agreement language and employment legislation
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with a dedicated focus on resourcing exceptional candidates for the organization
Strong presentation skills with the ability to think creatively and problem solve by creating creative strategies in the resolution of conflict and obstacles
Demonstrated ability to maintain tactfulness, integrity, and confidentiality at all times
Management & Exempt Salary Grade 3
- Salary: $79,195 to $98,994 per annum
