Our client, a leader in the Industrial and Hydraulic fluid conveyance solution providers based near the Mississauga, Ontario area. Their customer centric solutions are supported by highly effective and experienced technical sales and engineering teams.

The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for assisting the Quality Manager with maintaining Quality Management System, ensuring all products and processes meet internal, customer, and regulatory standards. A key element of this role is to be actively involved in ISO compliance, manufacturing process controls, supplier performance management, inbound inspection, and the release of all components into inventory.

Responsibilities:

  • ISO Records & Audit Compliance - Assist the Quality Manager on all aspects of Couplings ISO compliance. Conduct regular internal audits on all departments and issue corrective actions where required. Ensure Quality Records (QR's) are maintained and up to date per QMS.
  • Manufacturing Process Controls - Assist in the implementation and monitoring of process controls/work instructions for hose assembly production and in-house machining/inspection operations.
  • Inbound Inspection & Release of Inventory - Oversee the inbound inspection process for all incoming components and materials. Follow inspection plans for machined parts. Approve or reject materials and ensure proper documentation before releasing to inventory. Monitor the return process on rejected parts. Maintain traceability and accurate records of all incoming quality checks.
  • Train and supervise QC Inspectors on measurement methods and use of inspection tools. Train production staff on proper "In-Process Inspection" to ensure parts meet specifications before moving to the next operation.
  • Supplier Performance Reviews & Selection - Assist in evaluating and approving new suppliers (domestic and international) for hose, fittings, stems, ferrules, valves, and machined components. Conduct supplier audits, risk assessments, and maintain approved supplier documentation. Monitor supplier quality performance, including defect rates, delivery scores, and certification compliance. Issue supplier corrective actions and track responses to closure.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years Quality experience in industrial manufacturing. Experience with fluid conveyance preferred.
  • Diploma or degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years supporting ISO related activities inside a QMS.
  • Proficient with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, pressure testing equipment).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Experience with supplier audits, risk assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, tolerances, thread specifications (NPT, BSPP/BSPT), and machining requirements.
  • Basic computer skills (ERP/MRP system experience is an asset.
  • Commitment to maintaining safe work practices and high product quality.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with operations, purchasing, and sales.
