The QC Analyst is responsible to follow and improve the QC program of the San Jose sampling facility This involves evaluation and trial of new material, identifying and researching non-conformances, and helping to manage the corrective actions for continuous improvement. The QC analyst should also oversee production, create and/or follow the critical KPI’s in order to monitor, follow and react promptly to any underperformance or malfunction of the process in terms of production or quality. The QC Analyst is also responsible for establishing and validating the sampling procedure and the sample preparation procedure; responsible for collecting, organizing, and presenting sampling data not routinely collected by the site at the various process stages involved. Responsible for managing the re-run process and ensuring timely dispatch of samples to other sites and continuous follow up on results.
Position reports to the General Manager. Department The quality control analyst is charged with controlling all aspects of quality assurance for the sampling procedures and sample preparation procedures within the facility. The individual is required to work with the management team, the commercial group, shift leaders as well as other employees to provide guidance related to quality. Specific Accountabilities • Work in a safety-conscious manner adhering to all safety policies • Evaluate and complete trials for new materials • Establish, validate and review sampling procedures • Establish, validate and review sample preparation procedures • Collaborate with internal personnel to troubleshoot and correct quality/production issues • Work with management to control and reduce quality errors and improve production • Ensure Quality Control policies are implemented and maintained. • Manage documentation related to quality and production data (quality standards, definitions, checklists, guidelines, manuals, templates, forms, etc.) • Able to work on strong collaboration with employees, technician, and management team in order to enhance quality and production. • Results-Oriented problem solver in an ever-changing environment with strong troubleshooting skills • Strong follow-up skills; detail-oriented Dimensions • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in a Quality position desired • Possess good planning and interpersonal skills • Self-motivated, proactive and resourceful • Strong organizational skills • Capable of reviewing and analyzing sampling specifications • Be able to react in an environment with changing priorities • Practical knowledge in importing data for use in reports, spreadsheets, graphs and flow charts • Knowledge of sampling a plus • Six Sigma Experience a plus • Must be able to wear a respirator (test required) • Must pass routine physical exam and drug screening Working Conditions 35% of the job requires in the individual to work in an office atmosphere. 65% of job calls for working in an industrial plant.
Noise, dust and heat exposure are common, so the use of proper personal protective equipment is a must (hearing protection, safety boots, safety glasses, gloves, respirator and hard hat).
