We are currently looking for a diligent and highly resourceful Purchasing Manager to join our team.
About the Purchasing Manager role Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Sourcing and Business Development, the Purchasing Manager is responsible for efficiently managing the purchasing process, controlling costs, and ensuring the availability of necessary resources to support DCL Supply’s operations. This position requires the ability to manage and balance relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders and develop inventory strategies that best meet the potentially conflicting interests of each. Main Responsibilities of a Purchasing Manager Developing and executing purchasing strategies Reviewing inventory, and trends and making recommendations to the leadership team that drive continuous improvement and cost savings Tracking metrics to identify opportunities for reducing expenses Managing purchasing and shipping relationships Ensuring clear requirements, forecasting market trends, mitigating risks, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders including but not limited to Order Desk, Warehouse and Sales teams (internally), and Canada Customs, suppliers, and 3PL providers (externally) Accounts Receivable: Posting transactions in system Invoicing Performing credit checks Handling customer account set up Conducting collections Inventory: Leveraging company systems to plan inventory replenishments Conducting specialty orders and pricing Managing the return goods authorization processes Shipping and logistics management Handling all customs paperwork COGS accuracy Preparing inventory reports, recommendations and review meetings with leadership Working with the Director of Finance on inventory discrepancy reconciliation Performing new item setups Other duties as assigned Experience Requirements of ourPurchasing Manager 3 years of experience in a senior purchasing role Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline or equivalent work experience Demonstrable strength with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word , PowerPoint, and Excel) with strong skills in Pivot tables and other Data manipulation tools Ability to gather and analyze data to develop strategies and plans for inventory optimization, locate efficiencies, and present options to Leadership Experience working with 3PL providers Strong negotiation skills Ability to think both strategically and act tactically, understanding the needs of the business. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, both internally and externally with customers and vendor partners Additional experience that would be an asset: Experience in SAGE Experience in Sage Inventory Advisor (SIA) – Netstock Bilingual (French / English) is an asset Customs (import / export) Please inform us if you require any accommodations during the hiring process.
