Purchasing Coordinator, Bathurst, New Brunswick When you join our team as a Purchasing Coordinator , you will be responsible for for shipping and receiving of all incoming/outgoing supplies. Will also support as required with purchasing responsibilities and inventory audit. This position will report to the Purchaser and will also be responsible for interacting with our existing suppliers and vendors as required. What You’ll Do Receive all parts/inventory, tag & store in assigned location.
Prepare & ship all outgoing equipment as required. Complete purchasing of parts and supplies for the Sawmill, Kilns, Biomass, Mobile Garage & Fabrication/Machine Shop as required. Providing service to internal customers (shipping dept, planer department and production department) Organizing parts & supplies for VMI (vendor managed inventory), consignment inventory, Min/max inventory, etc. Operate forklift, pallet jack, wheel carts & hoists as required.
Maintain proper documentation (purchasing orders, goods received, etc.) Maintain the database (EAM) to ensure accuracy of inventory, preferred vendors. Excellent follow up skills with the ability to report when critical parts and material are to be received. Check inventory discrepancies and correct issue. Complete/Support/Expedite open purchase orders and resolve related problems as required.
What You Offer Post-Secondary Education preferred (minimum high school diploma). Experience with computerized purchase order systems. Trade qualification would be an asset. 3-5 years of industrial experience, preferably in the wood products industry. Intermediate Microsoft office skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
Maintain safe work practices at all times. Strong analytical, organizational and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a highly interactive/energetic team environment.
Detail/results oriented. Dynamic individual, flexible and adaptable to changing priorities while maintaining the objectives. Strong knowledge of windows-based computer operating systems and software. Excellent written and verbal communication.
Problem solving skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks at once. Ability to communicate and interact efficiently and professionally with external vendors and internal customers. Positive attitude with excellent customer service relations.
Willingness and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Ability to lift/handle 50lbs from time to time.
