Southern Irrigation is actively looking for a Full-Time Purchaser for our Lethbridge location. The successful candidate should excel in attention to detail, have good communication skills, and a positive attitude.

• Maintain optimal inventory levels that maximize sales while protecting healthy margins and minimizing waste
• Build long-term, high-trust partnerships with suppliers that deliver consistent value and priority service
  

What Youll Actually Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Proactively manage inventory levels by purchasing stock, processing transfers, and balancing budgets with sales potential
• Continuously optimize seasonal reorder points using sales history and trend analysis
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with new and existing suppliers
• Handle non-standard items, backorders, and urgent requests with speed and creativity
• Create and manage purchase orders and inter-store transfers with precision
• Monitor supplier performance and delivery timelines; quickly resolve issues to keep product flowing
• Analyze sales trends and upcoming promotions to forecast demand and avoid stock-outs or overstock
• Conduct regular market and price research to ensure were always getting the best possible deals
• Process returns, discrepancies, and quality issues with suppliers while protecting our interests
• Collaborate closely with the sales team to align purchasing with customer demand
