Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time Neuropsychiatrist or General Psychiatrist with relevant training and experience to join the multidisciplinary team and oversee the 12-bed Neuropsychiatry Unit at Hillside Centre.
The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Provide comprehensive neuropsychiatric assessments for adults with significant complexity
- Lead the multidisciplinary team (nurses, SW, OT, PT, Psychology, Neuropsychology) and participate in treatment planning conferences
- Participate in BC Neuropsychiatry rounds, held virtually, on a weekly basis
- Act as a resource for referring psychiatrists/teams and support the transfer of care to partners on discharge
- Synthesize and apply a customized biopsychosocial framework, and translate into care recommendations and plans
- Advocate for patients supporting re-integration to their home communities
- Participate in general psychiatry call at RIH

Qualifications
- You'll hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
- If you’re a US-trained physician with ABMS certification in psychiatry, you may be eligible to practice under the USA certified class.
- You’ll be UCNS Board Certified or Board Eligible in Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry, or have relevant training and experience.
- To practice medicine here, you’ll have coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
