Project Manager
Teranorth Construction & Engineering Limited builds major highways, interchanges, bridges, municipal infrastructure (water/sewer), subdivisions, rock blasting, and large-scale site works across Northern Ontario. We're looking for a Project Manager who can lead a highway/bridge project from award through closeout and maintain strong relations with client representatives.

Project Manager Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will continuously support our superintendents, foremen, and field staff by staying ahead of project management requirements and ensuring the team has what they need to execute the work efficiently. You will actively communicate with the client and the client's representatives, and you will typically be assigned either several smaller projects or one larger project, coordinating day-to-day needs with site teams and subcontractors on one front, while managing contract administrators and overall project requirements on the other.
Below are some examples of key tasks as a project manager at Teranorth:
- Study project requirements to gain a comprehensive understanding of the sequence, schedule and scope of work. Help ensure site staff are aware of details applicable to projects
- Prepare and review project submissions and prepare detailed construction schedules
- Identify opportunities for change proposals involving more efficient and cost effective methodologies
- Draft effective compensation requests/information requests for submission to the client
- Review change orders and assess changes from contract scope of work
- Look ahead and anticipate design related construction issues, and provide viable solutions before they become problems
- Assist with participate in the preparation of estimates for change orders
- Proactively manage changes in scope of work, anticipate issues and provide insight for effective resolution
- Develop and track project progress (reporting, monthly progress payments, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience on construction projects, preferably in highway/bridge projects
- University degree (Preferably in Civil Engineering with P.Eng. designation)

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Clear, critical thinking with excellent problem resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to computer programs specific to our work
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Based out of Thunder Bay, occasionally working on project construction sites
- Occasional long working hours, with travel to work sites when required
- Normally Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm (extended hours during peak construction as required)
Salary:
$100,000 - $150,000
