Position Overview (Location: Red Deer, AB & Surrounding Areas, Edmonton / Calgary)
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder communication while ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all phases of commercial construction projects
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and cost controls (budget tracking, forecasting, cost reports, cash flow projections)
Coordination of RFIs, submittals, budgeting, change management, drawings & meeting documentation
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams
Manage procurement and subcontractor buyouts
Monitor construction progress and conduct team meetings, generate professional client reports and internal project updates
Ensure compliance with Alberta building codes, OH&S regulations, and company safety standards
Identify and mitigate project risks
Develop, update, and maintain critical path schedules
Provide regular reporting to senior management and clients
Foster positive client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Qualifications
5 years of experience managing commercial construction projects (preferred) Candidates with strong experience in a related direct managerial role may be considered
Experience with projects valued up to $20M+ (preferred)
Strong knowledge of Alberta construction practices and regulations
Experience managing multi-project dashboards
Understanding of schedule sequencing and trade coordination
Ability to review and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contracts (required)
Post-secondary education in Construction Management (preferred) or equivalent experience in related field
Proficient in Microsoft Project, Revu Bluebeam, Microsoft 365 applications
Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
Willing to travel periodically for out-of-town work
Valid Alberta driver's license (required)
