Job Title: Project Manager (Commercial & Institutional Construction)

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Salary: $100,000 – $160,000 annually (based on experience)

Our client is a well‑established Edmonton‑based General Contractor delivering commercial, institutional, and First Nations projects across a range of delivery models including IPD, Construction Management, Design‑Build, and Lump Sum.

They are seeking a Project Manager to join a collaborative, well‑supported operations team, reporting to the VP of Operations. The initial assignment will be a $90 million administrative building in the Edmonton area. The organization offers a strong mentorship culture, excellent internal support, and the opportunity to lead meaningful, community‑impacting projects.


What You’ll Do:

  • Manage commercial and institutional construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, including contractors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee contract administration, proposals, and negotiations.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute regular project status reports.


What We’re Looking For:

  • 8-10 years of experience in construction project management (commercial or institutional).
  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills with success stories engaging subcontractors, engineers, consultants and owner's representatives.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with construction principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with MS Project and Procore is considered an asset.
  • General Contractor experience is a MUST HAVE.
  • Experience with healthcare and education environments managing projects with Alberta Health Services and Edmonton Public School Board, is an added advantage
