Very Polite Agency
We’re looking for a polite, assertive, driven, and organized veep — have you seen them?
Very Polite is looking for a Project Manager. This is a full-time one-year contract position and requires someone that can work from our Vancouver office. In this role, you’ll oversee 20-25 client projects and relationships, and rally our tight-knit creative team towards big outcomes. This comes naturally to you because you’re creative, proactive, and entrepreneurial. You see the big picture, but also sweat the details – and see ten steps ahead. Your standards are high, you trust your gut, and aren’t afraid to go back to the team if you don’t think a project is up to snuff. You set goals and you achieve them. Coming to work every day and making things happen with a small, collaborative, highly motivated team in a creative studio sounds like a dream to you. You’re also not afraid to have fun along the way.
Skills + Qualifications:
- BA/Diploma in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline
- PMP or Project Management Certification preferred but not required
- 2+ years’ experience running projects at a creative or digital studio
- You’re an incredible communicator—maybe even an over-communicator
- You pay exceptional attention to detail and have high-level organizational skills
- You’re assertive and willing to give direction
- You’re incredibly process-driven. You not only love processes, you love documenting them too
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit
- You have the ability to work collaboratively with different departments and creative types
Responsibilities:
- Set, track and manage timelines and budgets for 20-25 simultaneous projects (including strategy, content, design, and experiential events)
- Manage team’s workflow ensuring everyone knows what they need to do, and by when they need to do it
- Lead weekly team meeting and identify and fill resourcing gaps where needed
- Keep clients informed of project status and stay one step ahead of their questions
- Maintain and manage Very Polite’s project management platform (Teamwork)
- Identify and secure new opportunities to partner with existing clients
- Liaise with contractors as needed, brief them on project requirements and keep them accountable to deadlines and budgeted hours
- Act as a final set of eyes on documents before they go out to clients
- Track project budgets and give both the client and the team plenty of warning about overruns—make plans as necessary to stay within scope
- Issue change requests when the client changes the scope
- Book and arrange key project meetings
- You have a proven ability to work with a cross-functional team and collaborate
