The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) is a membership-based, not-for-profit organization committed to the promotion and recognition of Canadian country music. Built upon the foundation to educate, elevate and celebrate Canadian talent, the CCMA progressively heralds the spirit, community and creativity that country music fosters.

The CCMA office is located in downtown Toronto and prides itself on its inclusive, casual and friendly environment. The office runs on a hybrid schedule, with staff in the office three days a week.



WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) is a vibrant organization dedicated to promoting and celebrating the country music industry in Canada. As we position ourselves for future growth and development, we are seeking an adept and skilled Project Manager with a proven track record of successful project management to join our team. Reporting to the Membership Manager, this individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing key initiatives, particularly in the areas of sponsorship, Canadian Content Development (CCD), and grant funding. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader, passionate about innovation, capable of providing high-level project management support, and demonstrates ambition and a strong desire to advance their career within the music industry.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Coordinate Project Management: Lead and coordinate all phases of project management, including planning, executing, monitoring, and closing. Manage project scope and expectations to achieve optimal stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Project Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project status reports and schedules. Effectively manage risks and reset expectations as needed based on project progress and outcomes.
  • Budget Management: Oversee project budget, costs, and allocation of resources to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to align project scope and define clear deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for team members.
  • Workstream Meetings: Hold regular workstream meetings to drive progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure effective communication within the project team.
  • Presentations and Communications: Prepare internal and external presentations, decks, and communications to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.
  • Effective Communication: Clearly and concisely communicate project updates, technical risks, and issues in a business-friendly manner. Foster a collaborative and interactive approach to push projects forward.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Establish trusted relationships across the project team, management, key clients, and extended leadership.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Project Management Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of project/program management experience, with a focus on large-scale, multi-phase, complex cross-functional, and technology projects.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Proven experience in managing project budget, costs, and resource allocation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a passion for process improvement and creating efficiencies.
  • Change Management: Experience in implementing and managing change when necessary to meet project outputs.
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrated competency in collaborating with diverse, complex teams, both directly and indirectly.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Certification: Active certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI, or equivalent, is preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience with and knowledge of the Canadian music industry is considered an asset
  • Proficient working knowledge of Google Workspace and  Microsoft Office, including  Word, Excel, etc.
