We are currently seeking a Project Exploration Geologist for a maximum term of six months to support our ongoing exploration efforts in Nova Scotia. The role is based out of St Barbara's Bedford office and will report to the Exploration Superintendent. The Project Exploration Geologist will spend significant amounts of time in the field during the field season to support the planned exploration activities on the many exploration targets and resources under development by St Barbara Atlantic throughout Nova Scotia.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities Including But Not Limited To

Carrying out exploration under the direction of senior team members
Leading a field team to undertake rock chipping and auger sampling programs
Day to day supervision of RC drill rig and crew
Logging and sampling of RC chips
Assisting with the drafting of Assessment Reports
Always ensuring a safe working environment
Research and data compilation
Completing other geological activities as assigned

Essential Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Geology or a related field of studies
Experience with various aspects of mineral exploration with a particular focus on RC drilling and sampling protocols
Experience supervising and mentoring junior geologists
Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite products and GIS
Strong communication skills
Current unencumbered Class 5 Driver's Licence
Own transportation to/from St Barbara's Bedford office
Competent with outdoor field work which includes being proficient on the use and operation of a GPS and compass and being able to hike long distances while carrying samples

Working Conditions

Physically demanding – 10 to 12-hour days hiking through the woods in variable weather conditions or logging and sampling on an RC drill rig.
40 hour working week
Must be available to undertake regional field work which will require overnight stays away from Halifax
6-month Maximum term contract – May to October 2026
