Program Instructor – Seniors
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is looking for dynamic, highly motivated and energetic individuals to join the growing Leisure Services division to directly oversee the Seniors programs at the Leisure Centre. Reporting to the Recreation Programmer, the Program Instructor – Seniors provides direct program leadership, supervision and instruction for participants.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops a creative and effective program plan for each class/session.
- Monitor and supervise participants engaged in the program.
- Responsible for all aspects of the program including planning, supervision, setup/cleanup, safety and implementation;
- Completes accident/ incident reporting and program statistics.
- Completes a program review at the end of the session with participants.
- Responds to enquiries from and/or liaises with the general public, parents, family users and/or other staff regarding recreational services, registration procedures, program content and materials and/or other related matters.
- Coordinates all programming needs with immediate supervisor.
Key Competencies and Qualifications
- Possesses a high school diploma with preference given to those with post-secondary diploma in a relevant field.
- Possess Standard First Aid, and CPR Level C certification.
- High Five certification is considered an asset.
- Previous experience working with seniors.
- Candidates must be able to promote a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees, participants, agencies and the public.
- Effective problem solving skills and conflict management skills are also required.
- Ability to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire.
- Candidates must be available to work weekday daytime hours as part of a regular schedule.
This position offers an hourly rate of $23.96 to $ rates).
