Pharmacist - Full/Part Time Permanent

Location – Northway Pharmacy Health Sciences Centre, 700 William Ave, Winnipeg

We are an out-patient community pharmacy located within the hospital. Unique opportunities for collaborative practices leading to a challenging and rewarding career. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)
Provide patient-centered care along with exemplary customer service in collaboration with other healthcare providers
Filling, preparing, checking, and dispensing patient prescriptions as per physician orders
Supervising all Pharmacy Assistants/Technicians and approving all their drug-related tasks
Use proficient communication skills including counselling patients to ensure their understanding of what they have been prescribed
Coordinating with prescribers, patients, family members, caregivers, and other medical professionals to ensure seamless care and transitions from hospital to community
Providing specialized clinical services, including administering medications by an advanced method, pharmacist prescribing (including but not limited to minor ailments and smoking cessation), and medication training and other clinical services as deemed necessary by the Pharmacy
Fulfilling all duties of a pharmacist as defined by the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
Licensed through the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba as a practicing Pharmacist
Must maintain their certification and be a member in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba
Certification to administer medications by advanced method and pharmacist prescribing (or willingness to acquire)
Must possess a high degree of initiative, the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and possess time management, organizational and multi-tasking abilities
1 to 2 years of Pharmacist experience in community setting considered an asset
Experience with Kroll pharmacy software considered an asset
Operational Hours & Schedule:
Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Sunday: Closed
Shifts rotate on a schedule
Work an average rotation of 1 in 3 weekends.
Wages are based on experience.
