The Pension Analyst is integral to the success of the Merged Plans team, and to CAAT’s guiding mission and growth strategy. This role is important because you will be the front-line pension administrator responsible for all day-to-day tasks in the administration of the CAAT Pension Plan.

We are looking for someone with:


  • College Diploma or University Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with Multi-Employer Pension Plans (MEPP).
  • Experience in Public Sector Pension Administration or through an outsourcing service provider.
  • You may also have or be actively pursuing your Pension Plan Administration Certificate, Certified Employee Benefit Specials Program or Certified Benefits Professionals designation(s).
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Experienced in processing member transactions including terminations, retirements, deaths, etc.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent analytical skills, with a mathematical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Strong knowledge of applicable pension legislation and regulations.
  • Strong customer service approach and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment

Once here you will:


  • Process and complete all transaction activities including terminations, retirements, deaths, transfers, service purchases (buybacks) and pension estimates in accordance with established service standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Assist with developing mail merge templates for special projects such as batch estimate requests.
  • Liaise with Client Services Representatives to respond to complex inquiries.
  • Respond or prepare responses to requests verbally or in writing from employers, members, former members, and retired members.
  • Participate in structured training sessions to increase knowledge related to the Plan and legislation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the pension administration process.
