WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Performance Manager is expected to support the Performance leadership team to excute the tactical direction for client’s business objectives, understand aspects of the marketplace, and support the management of the team’s day to day paid search and social executions. The Director of Performance is responsible for managing the team’s performance and although the role is focused on paid performance it is expected that the candidate has a high-level understanding of the total digital ecosystem and the roles each of the digital platforms play in the daily lives of consumers. Key to this role is having a strong understanding of paid media fundamentals, ad serving and tagging technology, data analysis and communication to help drive performance results for Hearts and Science clients.
The Role & Expectations
- Develop and execute performance marketing strategies across various digital channels (e.g., paid search, paid social, display advertising, affiliate marketing, email marketing) to drive user acquisition and revenue growth.
- Analyze marketing data and key metrics to identify trends, insights, and areas for optimization; utilize data-driven approaches to make informed decisions and continuously improve campaign performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams, including Strategy, Marketing Science, Finance, and Investment, to align marketing initiatives with overall business objectives
- Manage and lead a team of performance marketing professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive individual and team success.
- Oversee budget allocation, forecasting, and reporting for performance marketing initiatives; optimize spend and resource allocation based on performance and ROI
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in digital marketing to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge
- Consistently optimize marketing activities to improve return on investment and cost per acquisition and activation
- Create executive-level presentations showcasing our strategy, results, and recommendations for both internal and external audiences.
- Ability to lead client-facing performance optimization initiatives (weekly global call)
- Develop and maintain strong client relationship build on proactive communication, trust and transparency
- Ensure timely and accurate campaign launches by exercising strong prioritization and project management skills and by closely collaborating with the activation and strategy teams
- Proven experience of managing campaign and media budgets, ensuring accurate pacing and working with Financial/Accounting teams to ensure fiscal responsibility
- Refine department processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness
- Have a keen eye for opportunities to grow the client business by leveraging strong product knowledge and ability to influence senior decision makers
Requirements:
- 4+ years of client-facing experience in digital marketing with emphasis on performance
- 2+ years of experience leading a paid media team, delegating tasks and providing mentorship
- Deep understanding of digital marketing tools and multichannel strategies including paid search, paid social and programmatic display/video.
- Goal-driven and detail-oriented approach to work. You challenge the status quo and are proud of your work output
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
