Pediatric Support Worker (Part-Time, Complex Care, One Family)

~60 hours per month | Long-term | Consistent schedule

We are a Milton family looking for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced support person to work with our amazing child in our home.

This is not an agency position and not a shift-based role. We are looking for one dedicated person who wants to build a long-term relationship, learn our child's routines deeply, and become a trusted part of our weekly rhythm.

If you value meaningful, one-on-one work and prefer consistency over rotating clients, this may be a great fit.

About the Role

  • Approximately 60 hours per month
  • Consistent weekly schedule with weekday and weekend hours available
  • In-home support in Milton
  • Personal support, supervision, companionship, and routine care
  • Training on our child's specific needs and routines will be provided
  • Calm, supportive home environment
  • Long-term opportunity for the right person
  • The role includes hands-on personal support, including assistance with mobility, positioning, and transfers. Candidates should be comfortable providing physical support as part of care.
  • The role may also include assistance with feeding routines and other care tasks. Training will be provided for our child's specific needs.

Experience We Value

We strongly value applicants with hands-on experience supporting children with medical complexities, disabilities, or high support needs in a home, school, or care setting.

Examples include:

  • PSWs with pediatric or complex care experience
  • Nurses looking for consistent one-family care
  • Educational Assistants with special needs experience
  • Experienced respite workers
  • Caregivers who have worked closely with one child or family long-term

Formal credentials are welcome. Relevant experience and confidence in a family home setting are just as important.

What Matters Most to Us

  • Reliability and consistency
  • Patience, warmth, and emotional intelligence
  • Comfort learning specific routines and care needs
  • Strong communication
  • Desire to be part of a family's support circle long-term

Experience Preferred

This role is best suited for someone who already has several years of relevant caregiving or support experience and is confident working independently in a home environment.

Compensation

$28–$34 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This rate reflects the level of consistency, responsibility, and experience we are seeking.

This is a consistent, long-term one-family role offering stability, predictable hours, and a supportive home environment.

Important Program Requirements

This role is funded through Ontario Health at Home's Family Managed / Self Directed Care program. Because of this, the successful candidate must be able to provide:
