Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Packer to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently packing, loading, and preparing products for shipment while ensuring quality standards are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and a strong work ethic to contribute to a fast-paced distribution environment. Prior experience with heavy equipment operation and warehouse management systems is a plus.
Duties
- Carefully pack and prepare products for shipment, ensuring items are secure and meet quality standards
- Load and unload goods using heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, or cranes
- Operate order pickers to efficiently gather items from inventory
- Manage shipping and receiving processes, including verifying orders and maintaining accurate records in warehouse management systems
- Utilize heavy lifting techniques to handle bulky or heavy items safely
- Assist in the organization of warehouse space, including construction or rearrangement projects as needed
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all operations involving heavy equipment and materials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packing area to promote safety and efficiency
Experience
- Previous warehouse distribution or logistics experience preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, or other material handling machinery required
- Knowledge of order picking, shipping & receiving procedures, and inventory control processes preferred
- Mechanical knowledge or background in construction can be beneficial for understanding equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during packing, load & unload activities
- Prior experience working with heavy equipment operation or in environments involving construction or industrial settings is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$19.50 per hour
