UHNBC sees approximately 1200 deliveries per year and has a level IIB NICU supporting babies as early as 30 weeks gestation. Northern Health Authority provides a moving allowance (between $9k - $15k), a recruitment incentive of $15k, a monthly rural retention fee of approx. $1,593, and a rural retention premium billing differential of 12.6% on each billing to MSP.

UHNBC is the main teaching center for Medical Students in the UBC Northern Medical Program. Prince George also has a 2-year Family Medicine Residency program. Both medical students and family practice residents rotate through our service year round. In addition, UHNBC provides teaching for UBC Residents in several specialties. There is a senior UBC OB/Gyn resident for 6 months of the year as part of their community rotation. The BC Cancer Agency, Centre for the North is onsite and offers radiation and medical oncology services.
