Job Description

A Cultural Resource Advisor at Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services is not only a child protection helper, they are also a family’s champion, advocate and support person.


What you will do



  • You will be a resource for children, youth and families seeking to deepen their connection to their Indigenous identity.

  • You will bring Indigenous traditions to life by organizing and leading cultural workshops, ceremonies, and gatherings in a safe and inclusive environment.

  • You will share your knowledge with staff, caregivers, community members, and empower them to integrate these practices into their daily lives.

  • You will help create a valuable resource list of cultural experts while maintaining strong relationships with First Nations, community partners and support persons.

  • You will raise cultural awareness, safety, and competence within Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child & Family Services.


Who you are


You are a culturally aware individual deeply rooted in your traditions, with a strong passion for preserving and sharing your knowledge. You have experience leading cultural workshops and ceremonies, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for diverse audiences. You are a proactive promoter of cultural competency, dedicated to empowering others to embrace, celebrate and promote their cultural identity. You are comfortable working alongside community members who may have experienced trauma or are at-risk.


You have studied social services or Indigenous studies and have at least five years of relevant experience.

*Note: Starting Salary is $72,685.49 – $87,604.48 plus all of the benefits listed below, with a total earning potential of $97,322.41 based on performance reviews.
