Mobile UX Designer — Remote



Digital design opportunity within the insurance industry, driving engaging mobile and cross-channel experiences that support retirement solutions across Canada. • Salaried: $50-57 per hour.


• Incorporated Business Rate: $60-69 per hour.


• 9-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.

Responsibilities:




• Design intuitive and high-performing mobile customer applications, applying native iOS and Android design patterns while ensuring alignment with broader desktop experiences and business objectives.


• Prioritize mobile-first design strategies that integrate seamlessly across digital channels.


• Collaborate upstream with cross-functional partners to support research, discovery, and design exploration initiatives.


• Translate insights into user-centered design solutions that enhance digital retirement experiences.


• Produce design artifacts including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs with strong attention to navigation, gestures, touch targets, and adherence to established design systems.


• Participate in user testing sessions to validate, refine, and iterate on proposed solutions.


• Work closely with service designers, experience strategists, content designers, and product stakeholders in an agile environment.


• Contribute to solving complex design challenges that improve user satisfaction and deliver measurable business value.


• Continuously stay current with evolving mobile technologies, emerging trends, and industry best practices in digital experience design.



What you will need to succeed:




• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent training and practical experience.


• 3 years of professional product design experience within cross-functional digital teams.


• Proven expertise in native mobile application design for iOS and Android platforms.


• Strong understanding of user experience principles, usability standards, and mobile interaction patterns.


• Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end digital product design process from concept development and prototyping through detailed execution.


• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.


• Experience designing within and contributing to established design systems.


• Familiarity with agile project management methodologies and collaboration platforms is considered an asset.


• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders, and bilingualism in English and French to collaborate effectively at a national level.


• Portfolio demonstrating design process, problem-solving approach, craftsmanship, and measurable outcomes is required.
