Medical Director

Job Description

We are seeking a Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for our psychedelic‑assisted psychotherapy services. The Medical Director will oversee medical aspects of care delivery, support interdisciplinary collaboration, and ensure services meet the highest standards of safety, ethics, and regulatory compliance.

This role is ideal for a physician with expertise in mental health care and an interest in advancing innovative, evidence‑informed psychedelic therapies within a regulated clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for psychedelic‑assisted psychotherapy services.


• Ensure patient assessments and treatment plans are clinically appropriate and evidence‑informed.


• Supervise and support clinical staff, including therapists and regulated health professionals.


• Ensure compliance with provincial regulations, professional standards, and accreditation requirements.


• Oversee safe prescribing and management of psychedelic‑assisted therapies, including monitoring for potential risks and adverse events.


• Support the development and review of clinical policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.


• Ensure appropriate informed consent, documentation, and patient record management.


• Provide guidance on patient selection, treatment protocols, and clinical decision‑making.


• Support professional development, staff training, and research initiatives.


• Collaborate with regulatory bodies, healthcare partners, and interdisciplinary team members.


• Maintain safe procedures for procurement, storage, handling, and disposal of controlled substances.


• Participate in the strategic development and growth of the clinic’s services.

Required Qualifications

• MD or equivalent medical degree with a valid license to practice in Ontario.


• In good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).


• Training or certification in psychedelic‑assisted therapies (e.g., MDMA‑assisted therapy, psilocybin therapy, or ketamine‑assisted therapy).


• Minimum 1 year of experience prescribing or overseeing psychedelic‑assisted psychotherapy.


• Strong understanding of psychiatric principles, trauma‑informed care, and psychedelic pharmacology.


• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing psychedelic substances and psychotherapy services.


• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
