About the Opportunity Outpost Mechanical has an exciting opportunity for multiple full-time Mechanical Forepersons, based in Metro Vancouver, BC.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for managing a variety of commercial mechanical projects on-site throughout the lower mainland on a 40-hour work week. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Planning, scheduling and directing all project operations Problem-solving both independently and by leveraging company resources Providing essential mentoring for apprentices and other team members Utilizing industry-leading tools and tool systems Reading and interpreting mechanical and architectural drawings Adhering to health and safety regulations and taking precautions to prevent injuries Conducting weekly toolbox meetings with on-site teams More About You In order to qualify for this role, you must have at least 5 years of experience in mechanical/plumbing project management as well as a Red Seal Plumbing certification. A valid BC driver’s license is also required. The following skills and experience will be strong assets: Keen interest in and acumen for project management Strong problem-solving, leadership, and project management skills Proactive and self-starting, consistently prepared for the tasks ahead Positive client-focused mindset Well-tested technical skills i Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and architectural drawings, Familiar with wood frame construction techniques Outpost promotes from within, so we are looking for candidates with the drive, ambition, and work ethic to progress their careers within the company.
