Job Description
Tutor Doctor Burlington is hiring caring and reliable Math Tutors to work one-to-one with students from Grade 9 to Grade 12. We are currently looking for tutors who are able to tutor students in person, in their home. We provide the clients, you focus on doing what you love - helping students learn and grow.
This is a flexible, part-time contract role, ideal for college/university students, teacher candidates, recent grads, or experienced tutors looking to make a difference while building professional skills.
What You'll Do
- Provide personalized academic support in reading, writing, or math based on student needs and school curriculum.
- Build strong relationships with students and families while maintaining professionalism and punctuality.
- Track session progress and communicate clearly.
What You Bring
- Completion of secondary school (minimum requirement).
- Strong subject knowledge in Math, Science, and/or English.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Basic comfort using MS Office and online tools.
- Must be able to pass a Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening before starting.
- Reliable transportation to travel to students' homes within Burlington.
Nice to have:
- Teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience.
- Enrolled in or completed a teaching program (e.g., OCT or education degree).
- Experience supporting students with different learning needs.
- We are especially interested in tutors who are comfortable with Grade 11 and 12 Functions.
