Job Description
Overview
Reporting to the Lead - Supply Chain Management, the Materials Management Technician Non-Certified provides customer service to Southern Health-Santé Sud sites and programs. The incumbent is responsible for the ordering, receiving, storage, distribution, and delivery of supplies and equipment for facilities in the region, which also includes driving from site to site. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.
Responsibilities
- Order, receive, store, distribute and deliver supplies and equipment for regional facilities (including driving between sites).
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods; act on unusual matters.
- Operate in alignment with SHSS mission, vision, and values and SHSS policies.
Experience
- Minimum one-year (1) relevant experience in a Supply Chain environment.
- Previous experience working with MS Dynamics GP is considered an asset.
Education
- Grade 12 Education.
Qualifications And Skills
- Knowledge of WHMIS and TDG.
- Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications and Email.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Problem solving skills and ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
- Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships; works well in a team and independently.
- Respect for and promotion of a culturally diverse population; bilingual positions may require proficiency in both official languages.
- Respect confidentiality in paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
- Good work and attendance record.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000; operates SHSS vehicles safely.
Physical Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
- May work in a variety of temperatures including excessive heat or cold.
- No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
- May work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary.
- May travel to other regional facilities as duties may require.
