Your OpportunityStantec's Geotechnical and Materials Engineering Team is seeking a Materials Field Testing Co-op to join our team in the Dartmouth, NS office. The position is an 8-month full-time opportunity from May to December 2026.
To be eligible for an 8-month term, your co-op sequence must currently accommodate a work term of this length. If you are unsure, please consult your co-op student advisor.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidates will demonstrate initiative and will excel under minimal supervision. You will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and skilled in delivering on your commitments. You will work with a team of engineers/scientists and other technologists/technicians performing general materials testing and inspection services in the field. In brief, duties include but are not limited to:
- Travel to sites, collection of samples
- Construction Quality control/Quality assurance testing (Concrete, Soils, Asphalt)
- Other general field related duties
- Reporting: You will be required to regularly complete detailed field reports and submit them to the project manager.
- Operations: You will be expected to support team operations and play an integral part in the promotion of our health and safety culture, client relations, equipment and resources maintenance and management, and other related duties will be expected.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
