Description

As a Market Demand Planning Manager within our Supply Chain department, you will be responsible for creating accurate demand plan and ensuring that the right products are available at the right time in the Canadian market. This role is also responsible for owning and facilitating the S&OP process through collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop a single unconstrained collaborative demand signal for the market based on historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights.
  2. Own demand planning phases of the Sales and Operational Planning monthly process.
  3. Lead the development of a monthly consensus forecast through a cross-functional Sales and Operations Planning Process involving representatives from Sales, Marketing, Planning, Finance, and Quality.
  4. Drive monthly reviews of demand forecast (in line with the S&OP process), sales performance, and inventory levels to identify any gaps or risks and recommend actions to mitigate.
  5. Develop appropriate action plans to improve Forecast Accuracy and Bias.
  6. Interface with Commercial Teams to capture business intelligence (LIFT) over & above BASE historical demand, coordinate through Gains & Losses process (Risks and Opportunities).
  7. Develop statistical forecast models. Analyze historical demand and incorporate any known qualitative information (i.e. anticipated market changes, seasonality, trends, etc.) to obtain a best fit forecast that balances the need for customer service and a return on the inventory investment.
  8. Lead monthly S&OP meetings with Canadian BUs; Set targeted, high impact agenda; Compile inputs from stakeholders across the business (Supply Planning and Finance).
  9. Support product launch activities by providing demand forecasts and inventory analysis to cross-functional teams.
  10. Identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning and S&OP and provide regular updates to management team.
  11. Responsible for uploading the demand plan into a forecasting tool (CloudSuite).
  12. Co-lead and participate in Globally driven Demand and Supply S&OP processes.
  13. Work closely with Supply Planning to ensure that inventory levels are in line with demand plan and that service level targets are met.
  14. Align our operational forecast with our financial forecast in working with our finance team (establish required processes and rhythms).

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum five (5) years of Demand Planning experience with consumer goods (FMCG) industry preferred, or pharmaceutical industry.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (MBA or MSc preferred).


ASCM/APICS Certification (CPIM/CSCP) or CPF are an advantage.

Computer skills: Power Point, MS Office, TXT, Oracle or similar ERP experience.

Advanced proficiency in Excel techniques and statistical analysis; experience with Vlookups/ Pivot tables/ If statements.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.


Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large data sets and identify trends and patterns.

Leadership and influential abilities, with a proven track record of leading and influencing teams towards achieving business goals and objectives.

Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
