They have a job opening for a Maintenance Manager to oversee asset health and maintenance. The job is based in Brampton- Concord- North York, ON area.
You will lead 6-7 mechanics. Candidates from Metals cutting bending CNC Lathe and similar equipment preferred. This is a hands-on work culture; licensed / non licensed millwrights mechanics and candidates with people leadership of a minimum of 5-person team preferred. The Maintenance Manager will be in a hands-on leadership role, lead mechanics, schedule PM and ensure equipment availability.
You will manage maintenance budgets, select manage external contractors for plant equipment and plant maintenance, lead projects for installation, repair and commissioning, analyse equipment breakdown to reduce down time. This is a continuous Improvement role to look for opportunities to improve asset health and downtime. This is a ‘role-up the sleeve’ work culture. You will assist in troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair, plan asset health and reduce down time.
You will hire train coach mentor junior mechanics, maintain parts inventory and assist in performance reviews and management. You will manage the H&S and ensure SOPs and Best Practices are written revised and implemented on the floor. You will run Kanban and other Lean projects to ensure shop optimization. The Maintenance Manager will ideally have 8-9 years’ experience in maintenance with minimum of 5 years in a manager / leadership role managing maintenance budgets, internal maintenance crews and external contractors.
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Skilled trades Licensed Millwrights and non-licensed Millwright mechanics with strong hands on and leadership experience managing minimum of 5-person teams, are highly preferred.
